Ruthann Smith - Church Secretary

Ruthann and her husband John first began attending Heritage Christian Church in 1988. In 2000, she accepted the position as the church's part-time secretary. Ruthann brought with her, 28 years of retail experience, 11 of which were in management. Four years later, the position of “accounts payable" opened up and Ruthann was offered the job. With much thought and prayer, she took on the job. “It was amazing how God led me to this job at such a crucial point in my life. Even more amazing, is the fact that most of what I learned in retail, I’ve been able to carry over into this awesome church office! God has truly blessed me a million times over!”

Janet Gray – Church Secretary

Prior to joining the staff here at Heritage Christian Church, Janet worked as a secretary for 17 years in the Public Relations field. She left the business world to stay at home with her three children and then spent 12 years incorporating that with running an in-home daycare.

While in the midst of that, Janet felt called to apply for an opening in the church office. “Although the timing didn’t seem to make sense, I knew that God was calling me to this role. So, after much prayer and confirmation, I applied and am very glad that I did. Working here feels like I’m at my second home.” Janet and her family have been attending Heritage for over 10 years.

She views here position here not only as her job but more as part of her ministry. Her desire is to use every contact she has with someone here as an opportunity to extend God’s love. Janet feels blessed to be able to use her office skills to serve her church family and others and hopes to bring glory to God while doing so.
